RBNZ Assistant Governor Silk to Leave in Dec
By Sophia Rodrigues
Published On 16 Sep 2026 , 06:50 PMRBNZ's assistant governor Karen Silk to leave the bank in December.
The executive leadership team is being expanded. The assistant governor - money role is going, and will be replaced with new roles: assistant governor - monetary policy and assistant governor -- payments and cash.
RBNZ will also create a chief of staff role (looks like central banks are joining the chief of staff "trend"). It was only a few years ago we associated chief of staff positions with politics.
Apparently, the operational budget agreed with the government is enough to fund the new positions.
