RBA buying A$3B under yield target policy (as CB-Intel flagged)
By Sophia Rodrigues
Published On 26 Feb 2021 , 11:38 AMThe RBA has announced it will buy A$3 billion of the April 2023 and April 2024 government bonds under the yield target policy.
As CB-Intel wrote yesterday, the RBA will defend its three-year yield target, and this morning wrote there is a possibility it will buy bonds today even though it is not usually a day of bond-buying.
The RBA has sent a strong signal it will defend the 0.1% three-year yield target, so it will be interesting to see what yield is achieved at the auction today.
