Australia July monthly CPI up 3.5% y/y

Published On 28 Aug 2024 , 11:40 AMAustralia's monthly Consumer Price Index Indicator rose 3.5% y/y in July compared with a 3.8% rise in June, data published by the Australian Bureau of Statistics showed.
This is the second-lowest pace of monthly CPI since it peaked at 8.4% in December 2022 in the post-pandemic high inflation era.
Trimmed mean CPI rose 3.8% y/y in July, slowing from 4.1% in June and matching the lowest pace since the pandemic.
CPI excluding volatile items and holiday travel rose 3.7% in July compared with 4.0% in June.
