AOFM issue guidance for new issuance in 2020-21

Published On 03 Jul 2020 , 12:18 PMAOFM issues guidance for new issuance in 2020-21 that will apply until the 2020-21 federal budget is handed down in October.
Following are the details:
--Treasury bond issuance to be A$4 billion to A$5 billion in most weeks.
--Treasury Notes to be A$2 billion to A$4 billion in most weeks.
--New bond lines maturing in 2025, 2026, 2031 and 2032 will be established via syndication. Also, a new 30-year bond line maturing in June 2051 will be issued via syndication by September 2020*, subject to market conditions.
--Syndicated taps of existing long-dated Treasury Bond lines will remain under consideration consistent with past practice, however, the launch of the new 2051 line will be the priority.
--No plans to resume regular bond buyback tenders during 2020-21.
